Day Two
After breakfast your hosts will be on hand to help with any needs you might may have.

Today we have planned a foraging activity where you will walk take a walk out into the forest with your guide and search for local delicacies. The forests around Pine Bay Lodge are full of autumn delicacies including Blue berries, Cloud berries, Lingon berries, Sea buckthorn (bursting with vitamin C) and mushrooms of several different types. These ripen in the late summer and autumn and enhance the flavours of many of our local dishes. On this walk we will be specifically searching for these various types of berries and mushrooms and hoping to catch a glimpse of local wildlife.

This evening we will join our chef in an outdoor cooking class. Swedish Lapland is famous for its cuisine. The raw ingredients are part of the secret and in this activity, our chef will show you how to prepare an amazing outdoor 3-course dinner using local ingredients. Of which, some have been picked by you and your family/friends.

Day Three
After breakfast we will drive to the famous Treehotel. This 1 hour drive will take about 1.5 hours as we stop to enjoy sightseeing along the way including a stop at the World Heritage Gammelstad Church Village.

The Treehotel is amazing from any angle. Your hosts have created a magical range of 7 hotel rooms in the trees in the forest near the village of Harads overlooking the Luleå river. There is an endless joy living so close to nature and reliving your child hood dreams. The rooms at Treehotel are all independently created by some of Scandinavia’s most famous architects. We will help you choose the right room and view for you.

In the early afternoon we have included a show for all senses! Meet Eva Gunnare, culture guide, food connoisseur and specialist in local wild herbs and berries. On this year round tour we have a short walk through the beautiful pine and the birch forest to the meadows surrounding the Treehotel, discovering the flavours from the nature. Then we will end up in the warm restaurant where Eva will serve more homemade treats made from her foraged treasures. This includes 4 hot and cold drinks from local berries and herbs, 8-10 taste bites filled with natural, foraged food. Eva has lived with the reindeer herders for many years and experienced the traditions from having a life close to the nature. In this tasty tour she wants to give you an understanding about the wonderful everyday Arctic life of Swedish Lapland.

The Treehotel restaurant is listed in Sweden’s white guide and offers an exceptional standard of cuisine with a simple home cooked style that tastes amazing.  For dinner we have included an exclusive three course dinner with a selection of local dishes in the Treehotel restaurant.
